What I do here:
I develop technology solutions that help advisors serve the needs of their clients.
Why I love my job:
A typical project allows me to blend analytical and creative thinking along with artistic design. It’s fulfilling to see a need, work to understand the problem, and create something that makes life easier for someone.
I’ve been developing software and using technology to solve problems in the financial services industry for over 20 years. My career started in the late 90s at Portfolio Management Consultants, where I formed a team to create the firm’s first web application, a client portal. In the early 2000s I co-founded a consulting firm where I gained a broad understanding of financial services working with established institutions and start-ups across the country. I then spent 8 years at Prima Capital developing software, managing teams of engineers, overseeing network operations, and learning agile methodologies. We created solutions for investment manager research and due diligence, asset allocation modeling, strategy reporting, proposal generation, retirement plan administration, and investor education. We were acquired by Envestnet in 2012, and I joined as SVP of Technology, offering my servant leadership to software teams in Denver, CO, Sunnyvale, CA, and Trivandrum, India. Interested in returning to an entrepreneurial environment, I founded Forward Financial Technology, LLC. The vision was to create a financial advisor toolkit – a collection of applications to streamline processes, automate tasks, generate reports, and support advisors as they focused on the needs of their clients. First Ascent was my initial customer, and the “Account Onboarder” application was built with their advisors in mind and with considerable input from all members of the team. It made sense to join forces and I’m thrilled to be on board! I look forward to continuing to evolve the technology offerings that support our advisors and their clients.

Where I come from:
I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Colorado in 1991.
A little personal:
I get energized when learning new things. I believe the best solutions emerge from rapid experimentation, short feedback loops, and a willingness to adapt. I’m most productive in the morning, but most creative in the evening.
